The members of Congregation Beit Tikvah seek to create a sacred community where, in an environment of mutual respect, we can explore Judaism openly and honestly. This exploration and study inspires us to diminish suffering and increase goodness in the world through sacred actions.
Congregation Beit Tikvah will be a sacred community which welcomes all members who wish to engage in open and honest exploration of Judaism in an environment of mutual respect and warmth. It will offer a variety of spiritual, educational and social events that offer opportunities for prayer, study and Gemilut Hasadim. Members of Beit Tikvah care for one another as well as the communities in which they reside – from their local neighborhoods to international neighbors. They support one another in performing sacred actions that evoke the presence of God.

In the Reconstructionist Jewish tradition, the Rabbi and congregants share service leadership. Opportunities abound for congregants to lead entire services or portions of a specific service, complete with training and support to help you be comfortable doing this. Services are held on alternating Friday nights and Saturday mornings and on Jewish holidays (see our calendar for the most current service schedule).
Congregation Beit Tikvah was founded in 1985 as the first Reconstructionist Jewish congregation in Baltimore. We meet in a sanctuary located in Roland Park in Baltimore, Maryland, established by and shared with the Corner Community Center, at 5802 Roland Avenue, at the corner of Roland and Lake Avenues in Roland Park, about 5 blocks north of Northern Parkway.
