Tu Bishvat, the Jewish Earth Day (this year on January 17), is a time to appreciate the gifts of nature and recommit to caring for all of creation. Jewish scriptures celebrate the diversity of life. The Tanakh (Hebrew Bible) and Talmud mention hundreds of plants and animals. The rabbis teach that every species was created by G-d, and therefore has a purpose.
