In this week’s Parsha Mishpatim, we have a large section of blueprints for community. Exodus 21.1-24.18 includes regulations about Israeli serfdom, capital crimes of violence, injuries and social relations. How do we apply Mishpatim to include and elevate us all? While our Torah blueprint was ahead of its time, can we ( as Reconstructionists) re-interpret the parts that are now outdated?
