Jonah and the Paradox of Prophecy

Too often the book of Jonah is seen as a tall tale for children, trivialized, or simply passed off as a fish story. But Jonah should be read as a handbook on the nature of prophecy and the duties of the prophet. The narrative is both simple and complex, both insightful and a thought-provoking paradox.
