The Selichot service introduces and immerses us in some of the spiritual themes, traditional prayers and musical melodies of the season. It allows us to better feel and focus our yearnings and goals for personal growth and change. It is a traditional warm-up for the High Holy Day services themselves. We will end on the hopeful, traditional note of the shofar blast.
