Sibling Rivalries in Genesis
This week’s Torah portion, Toldot, introduces the bitter rivalry between Jacob and Esau, and their eventual tentative reconciliation. Their story falls in the middle of the Book of Genesis, which highlights numerous other sibling rivalries throughout the generations. How does Genesis encourage us to move from rivalry to support? What is its relevance for us today?
