Freedom from the Shackles of Ego: Why Isn’t Moses in the Haggadah?
This lunch study & discussion will focus on the Haggadah – the booklet Jews read together at our festive seder meals for the upcoming Passover holiday. The Haggadah retells and expands upon the story of our Israelite ancestors leaving Egypt. In the original story, from the biblical Book of Exodus, Moses is the central human character. However, most traditional versions of the Haggadah don’t mention Moses at all. Why not??!! The basic answer is very traditional and pious, but it can also inspire even the least pious and least traditionally-minded among us. Come and discuss!
