November 6, 2021 - 10:00am - November 6, 2021 - 1:00pm

10:00 am  Shabbat Morning Service with Rabbi Doug Heifetz

When Slow and Steady Wins the Race
The Torah readings at this time of year bring us the narratives of Isaac, the middle one in a line of three classic Jewish patriarchs from the biblical Book of Genesis. In many ways, Isaac is the least noteworthy of the three. His father, Abraham, and his son, Jacob, were the fiery, charismatic ones. Isaac seems relatively quiet and nondescript by comparison. However, a close reading shows that his personality brought unique leadership gifts which the other patriarchs lacked. What are the advantages of a slow, steady and faithful approach, as shown by Isaac’s example?
